Restoration of a 1964 Gibson Firebird III guitar. This guitar came into my possession in very rough condition, with some horrible thick overspray on the front, a completely and poorly refinished back and a repaired headstock that was fairly well done. It was complete with all original hardware except for one pot. The sides of the body looked like a wood rasp was taken to it near where the neck centerpiece joins the body wings. I decided it was best to entirely refinish the guitar as what little was left of the original finish was basically shot anyway. Here is the process of the restoration.
